In-text Advertising

The use of in-text advertising is mainly to generate site visitors to another website through a link. It is commonly inserted between paragraphs of a particular article often strategically placed within a Web page. But, it can also take form in an advertising content directly placed in website’s article. As a form of contextual advertising, it has received its share of criticisms from journalists who view it as ethically problematic because it somehow erodes the importance of the article in lieu of the advertising content.

Contextual advertising

Contextual advertising

But, as users become used to in-text advertising, it can actually be viewed as a helpful tool, especially when a browser is looking for a particular product or brand. The Google Adsense for example, is a good form of contextual advertising, where adverts are placed directly with the relevant content. In-text advertising on the other hand, uses hyper links into the text of a Web content.
